As parents, there are few things better than seeing your child light up doing something they love — whether it’s sport, art, music, gaming, animals, or anything in between.

This week, I found myself on the sidelines (muddy boots and all!) watching our 12-year-old do something they’ve worked hard for. It’s not about trophies or first-place finishes — it’s about showing up, trying, and growing. Whether your teen is chasing big dreams or still figuring it all out, we’re right there with you.

So… how can we support our teens and tweens as they explore their passions?

💬 Ask questions, listen lots

You don’t need to be an expert in what they love. Just showing genuine interest goes a long way.

🎉 Celebrate effort over outcome

Sometimes it's not about winning, it’s about showing up and giving it a go.

🌱 Be the calm when things get bumpy

Teen years are a rollercoaster. Your steady support helps them stay grounded.

What if they haven’t found “their thing” yet?

That’s completely normal — not every kid finds their passion early, and that’s okay. Here are a few ways to help them explore:

• Encourage curiosity: Let them try things without pressure to be instantly great at it.

• Notice their strengths: Are they creative? Empathetic? Analytical? These traits often point the way.

• Model exploration: When they see you trying new things, they feel safe to do the same.

Oh, and one more thing…

Sometimes, in supporting our kids, we lose touch with the things we love.
Here’s your gentle reminder:

💛 It’s never too late to start again
💛 Finding your joy doesn’t take away from your kids — it teaches them how to live with purpose

So go on — pick up that paintbrush, sign up for that course, start that garden.
You might just inspire your teen more than you realise.

A Little Holy Moly Moment…

We recently had the joy of supporting young riders at the Junior Motocross Nationals in Pukekohe. We handed out Holy Moly Face Wash samples to all the competitors, and each class winner scored a full-size bottle to take home.

Because good skincare, like chasing a passion, is all about showing up for yourself consistently — and celebrating the wins along the way.
